Has ChatGPT reached the endpoint??
On Monday, Google announced a new chatbot tool called "Bard" in an apparent attempt to counter ChatGPT's viral success.
What is Bard?
Bard, Google's answer to ChatGPT, is the company's experimental conversational AI service. The report states that Bard AI is the result of the search giant's intense push to catch up to Chatbot ChatGPT from Open AI.
Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google and parent company Alphabet, said in a blog post that Bard will be open "to trusted testers" starting Monday and will be available "in the coming weeks."
Like ChatGPT, which was published in late November by artificial intelligence research firm OpenAI, Bard is built on a large language model. These models are trained on large sets of online data to generate persuasive responses to user prompts.
The most important reasons behind the invention of "Bard":
The announcement comes amid a widespread belief that Internet search, Google's core product, is facing its biggest crisis in years. In the two months since it went public, ChatGPT has been used to write articles, stories, song lyrics, and answer some questions you might have previously searched on Google.
The massive interest in ChatGPT reportedly prompted Google executives to declare the "Code Red" case for their search business. In a tweet last year, Gmail co-founder Paul Buchheit warned that the rise of AI "may only be a year or two away from completely destroying Google.""Bard's" future:
Microsoft, which has confirmed plans to invest billions in OpenAI, has already said it will integrate the tool into some of its products, and is rumoured to have plans to integrate it into the Bing search engine. On Tuesday, Microsoft will host a news event at its Washington headquarters, but the topic has yet to be announced. Microsoft announced the event publicly shortly after Google's AI news was announced on Monday.“We will soon see AI-powered capabilities in search that distil complex information and multiple perspectives into easy-to-understand formats. He can learn them,” Pichai wrote. Additional perspectives, such as blogs from people who play piano or guitar, or diving into related topics, are like steps to getting started as a beginner. "
When will Bard be available to everyone?:
The underlying technology that powers Bard isn't widely available to the public, but it's been around for some time. Google announced its language model Dialog Apps (or LaMDA) about two years ago, and said Monday that the technology supports Bard. LaMDA made headlines late last year when a former Google engineer claimed that chatbots are "sensory." His claims were widely criticized in the AI community.
